Eyeliner is a staple in many makeup bags and comes to eyeliners I consider myself a connoisseur because I have tried a lot. I am always on the lookout for one which is long-wearing, easy to use and waterproof liner and really black. So when I read the reviews of the AMC gel liner 77 which is a cult favourite I knew I just had to try it out.
What is it?
Inglot AMC eyeliner in number 77 is a gel liner which if you remember from my previous post about eyeliners. It promises a high-intensity pigment with intense colour after just one application which is creamy, long-lasting, smudge-proof and crease-proof finish. This product somehow does all of this and more.
What does it do
Allows you to get a pretty freaking great cat eye
Appearance and packaging
The liner comes in a small clear plastic tub with a black lid. It contains a significant amount of liner almost double the amount provided by other brands. So will last you for ages even if you used it every single day for months on end.
How to use
Because it is a pot gel liner and needs to be applied with a brush. There are two types of brushes that can be used for applying; a thin eyeliner brush or an angled eyeliner brush. Either will work it just depends on your skill. Personally, I use either the Zoeva fine liner brush or the Louse Young fine eyeliner brush. While both work equally well I tend to reach for the Louise Young when I want to have precision for that perfect cat eye and it is able to do that because it is so very fine.
Results
This liner creates a seriously blacker than black line opaque line, with the most intense pigmentation which stays put all day. Not only does it stay put on the lid, but it also doesn’t move if you apply it on the waterline and lasts all day long.
Unfortunately, this eyeliner tends to dry out even when you use the lid consistently, however, Inglot has another product called Duraline which can be used to restore the fluidity of the eyeliner. You add a few drops and it is good to go.
Cost
Pros
- Highly pigmented and deep black
- Smudge-proof
- Waterproof
- Long-lasting last all-day
- Crease proof finish this applies smoothly
Cons
- The product dries out very fast so you need to keep the container air-sealed, so don’t open it all the way
- Because the liner dries outs so easily it makes your brush harden when used so you need to clean it after every use.
- Removal can be tricky because it does not move, so you need a good eye makeup remover
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants to have a glorious cat eye with a dark almost immoveable eyeliner
Rating
Performance: 5/5 – This is a really great product that applies really smoothing with a great colour payoff.
Quality: 4/5- it comes in basic packaging which is slightly less luxurious than the other gel liners which come in glass jars. That may contribute to its ability to dry out more quickly.
Value for money: 5/5 – Excellent value for money because it has about twice the product as other gel liners.
Ease of use: 3/5 – This is dicey, it depends. If you know how to apply eyeliner with a brush then it applies easily otherwise may be tricky to apply.
Overall rating: 4/5 – This is hands down one of the best eyeliners I have used, it’s really black, smudge-proof and practically immovable. The only reason it is not a 5/5 is that it dries out.

Alternatives
There it is my review of the AMC gel liner, this is an eyeliner I would highly recommend especially if you already know how to use an eyeliner brush. Despite its tendency to dry out you still get a great deal of use out of the pot and Inglot have thoughtfully provided another product that helps extend the lifespan.
