I consider myself a connoisseur of cleansing oils and balms and love to try out new brands and formulas. So when I used up my current cleansing I was on the lookout for a new brand to try out. Luckily I had a few contenders on my mind. Based on my research on the best cleansing oils and balms and the DHC deep cleansing oil kept coming up. It was on EVERY list and was recommended for all skin types.
When something is that popular it is either that good or it is mass hysteria. I wanted to believe it was that good and decided to give it a try. Because when I was in Lagos for the Beauty West Africa conference in November I tracked down the Instagram vendor who had it available and bought the largest sized bottle.
This has given me enough time to test it out so I feel I can give an informed review so let’s get started.
What is it?
First of all, It is an olive oil-based cleanser which removes all makeup and dirt with no residue. This cleanser serves as the first step of the double cleansing process. Once it removes the makeup and dirt from your skin your water-based can actually clean your skin.
What does it do
This combination of oils removes makeup and dirt from your skin while softening and providing a deep clean but leaving your skin feeling hydrated. The best part is that it rinses off with the application of water which means you don’t have to use a flannel or towel to take it off which can be an issue with some cleansing oils.
Appearance and packaging
The DHC deep cleansing oil comes in a light green secondary paper packaging while the bottle itself is transparent with a pump. The oil itself has a marigold (yellow ) colour which is visible through the bottle. In addition, the pump also has a clip attached which prevents it from discharging its contents by mistake when in transit.
The product comes in 3 sizes the 200 ml,70 ml and 30 ml
How to use
For the best results apply 2 pumps of the cleansing oil onto the palms of your hands then massage into the skin of your face for at least 60 seconds. This removes all makeup including long-wear foundation and waterproof mascara.

- None really, the only con is that it is an oil which makes travelling with it an exercise in optimism

This one of the best cleansing oils I have used and I don’t say that lightly. It is lightweight, non greasy and gets every speck of makeup off while leaving your skin hydrated.

It is excellent quality, lightweight and feels luxurious when you apply it to your skin and does what it is supposed to do easily, which is get makeup and dirt off your skin.
Value for money 5/5
The DHC deep cleansing oil is excellent value for money I got the largest size bottle and I have used it pretty much every day for 2 months and I am still not even halfway through the product.
Ease of use 5/5
It is easy to use like other cleansing oils and has the added benefit of rinsing off easily with water.

I would recommend this cleansing oil without reservations, first of all, it works for every skin type, gets all your make-up off and is excellent value for money. What is not to love! So run don’t walk to buy the product and you won’t regret it.
